The Christmas checklist

Thus far I have:

  • gotten all of John’s presents & stocking stuffers except the candy stuff (which I always buy on Christmas eve so that it won’t get eaten early)
  • gotten all of Katherine’s presents and stocking stuffers (except for the quilt which needs making)
  • dyed the fabric for K’s quilt and designed the thing
  • gotten 80% of the rest of the gifts to be bought
  • wrapped 30% of the total
  • designed and printed the Christmas cards
  • made a mailing list
  • ordered the envelopes for the odd-sized cards
  • a clean house
  • a clean and tidy studio
  • all orders finished, one still to deliver
  • wrapping supplies all accumulated and in one spot, including ribbon, tags and tape
  • all supplies for the gingerbread fest (this Sunday) assembled
  • tree lights tested

Remaining to do:

  • the other 20% of shopping (tonight)
  • finish K’s quilt
  • finish another present
  • wrap the other 70% of things
  • inscribe, address, fold and stamp the Christmas cards
  • mail the suckers
  • make the gingerbread houses for the party (Saturday afternoon)
  • get the tree (Saturday morning)
  • set the tree up and put on the lights (Saturday night, maybe? possibly Sunday night)
  • get turkey and other Xmas food
  • make chili for Sunday gingerbread party

So actually, we’re in good shape and I’m feeling completely unstressed. I’m ducking now, so you can feel free to throw things in my specific direction.

I’m not even going to write a list like this until Saturday is over, when I’ve planned to do the bulk of the shopping. But next week has fewer holiday gatherings and events in it than this week (which has been insane) so there shouldn’t be a huge panic about the smaller jobs. I hope.

Oh good! Now that you are ahead of the game… we’ll expect you Monday through Thursday to help with our packing! *grin*

Are you offering me a plane ticket to Boston? Wow! I’ll be there! Anything to get away from The Fiend Darling child.

We’re in pretty good shape here to Vicky :)

Got the rest of the gifts wrapped, and the ones that had to be shipped to their destinations are gone, the cards have been mailed,

All I really have left now is maybe a few more items to bake (bread for one),, have 3 things to pick up tomorrow and wrap them up (orders from sears and a bookstore that finally came in). and get a few groceries.

All in all not bad at all :)

    enjoy the weekend !!

Wow, I’m impressed! I’m making progress but not like you and I don’t have a small child in tow either.

Driving home last night I noted that nearly every house seemed to be lit with Christmas lights – except mine. I have a ceramic snowman and three little art deco Christmas trees on the mantel. Does that count?

I guess I’ll be busy this weekend.
