Husbands who do any of the following while their wives are ill:
- take care of their daughters all weekend
- empty large quantities of compost into the compost heap despite swarms of wasps
- walk dogs
- rub their sick wives backs in the wee hours of the morning when the wives are racked with coughing spasms
- cook
- hang out laundry
- bring in laundry
- walk dogs
- tuck their wives into bed with a heating blanket and a cup of juice
- manage the general chaos that is life
are wonderful, kind creatures deserving of public praise. Husbands who do all of the above are gems. I count myself lucky to be married to the latter.
